Mossburn Community Farm was originally set up in 1987 to provide help for misused, abused, unwanted and neglected horses and ponies as well as young people with physical and mental problems. This original remit was later widened, and they now care for all domestic animals except cats, dogs and donkeys which have their own specific charities.
Our main causes:
Mossburn Community Farm
Stop Yulin Festival
They were established on 19 April 2017 to meet the need and demand for RDA activities and services in the Nithsdale area of Dumfries and Galloway.
Our horses and ponies provide therapy, achievement and enjoyment to people with disabilities. We offer activities for all age groups and, wherever possible, to people with any disability.
The charity was founded in 2015 by Garry Botterill and Judith Broug who developed a friendship over a number of years because of their shared interest in assistance dogs and PTSD.
They are a team of like-minded people from all walks of life, all with a serious passion for improving the lives of PTSD veterans from the Armed Forces and Emergency Services; whether injured on the front line abroad or at home and for rescue dogs.
